Central Vac Keeps Running

Sometimes when the FIL pulls out the hose from the wall, the vac keeps running.

Is there a relay that sticks or something?

Thanks,
Pugsy

Do all of them do it or just one?

Brand, model #, photos? Relays are usually at the vac unit. More likely wall contacts not opening when the hose is removed.

Pics: I'll have to get the father in law under bright lights and grill him on the particulars...

I will wait until the next time it happens and give a little tap/wiggle at the wall outlet to check that first.

Thanks everyone.

I would say you have a small piece of conductive shinola on top of the contacts on the inlet.

Remove one of the low voltage wires from the canister. If it turns off it's out in the hOuse somewhere. If it keeps running its inside the canister.
