Ceiling Light Pendant - Wattage Help Please

Broke the bottom of a ceiling pendant putting in a new bayonet bulb. The fitting had a label stating "60w bulb max". It was too dim anyway so bought a new 100w pendant.

Question is - do I need to fit a whole new pendant to the ceiling, or can I just attach the new bulb fitting bit to the pendant hanging down? Not sure where the wattage bit is- in the part connected to the ceiling or the bottom bulb section. Please help. Thank you!

To have a UL listed fixture you would need to hang a whole new fixture.

Very risky to tie a larger wattage fixture to the existing one. Wire ampacity is "probably" okay but who knows about the fixtures and wiring's heat tolerance.

If you hang a new fixture, also note that if you have really old wiring in the ceiling box (pre 1986) it is probably not rated for 90 degrees C and cant handle a fixture requring 90 degree supply conductors (usually listed clearly on the box). Not usually an issue for pendant versus ceiling mounted fixtures but just want to make you aware.
