Tripped breaker/AFCI?
Did you disconnect any wires in the ceiling box other than what was connected to the old fan?

How is the fan wired. Tell us wire by wire how you connected the fan to the wires in the ceiling box.

It seems then to be something with the way you put wire to wire - faulty fan?

markellingejr.

This ceiling fan, is it a paddle fan, or a flush mounted exhaust air type?

Post back, and I tell you my way to check out the fan. And you won't
need a ladder to do it.
