Ceiling fan struggling to spin

I have a ceiling fan that just stopped working. When I turn it on, the lights work and I can see the motor is on, the blades seem to want to move but it seems that there is not enough power to make it spin. What could it be. Im not sure what name brand it is.

Do you have any motor speed controls or dimmers in the circuit powering the fan??

How old is the fan? Over time, the vibrations from the fan may have shaken a connection loose.

I would say the motor is shot, I just think it is time for a new one. They are simple to change out since you already have one in place and they don't cost to much!!
