Question

ceiling fan remote

I bought a fan/light remote for my ceiling fan. I have 2 switches on the wall, one for the light and one for the fan. The wiring diagram only shows how to wire for a single wall switch, black to black & white to white. I have white, black and red wires coming from the ceiling. Have I purchased the wrong remote or is there something I can do? (that is simple enough for this "novice")

Thanks, Clark

Just use the black or the red and cap the one you don't use.

You'll only use one switch. Pick either the black or red and cap the other. You won't be able to control the light and fan independently from the wall.
Are these just regular rocker switches?
