Ceiling fan light no longer working?
I'm in a new home with 5 Hunter ceiling fans. The fans were all installed within the last year. My kitchen ceiling fan light bulbs blew last night when I turned the switch on. I replaced the bulbs, but they will not work. I checked the bulbs in other fixtures and they are good bulbs. The ceiling fan is still working? I have checked what seems to logical and apparant but can't locate the problem. Is Hunter having an issue?

Some Hunter ceiling fans have a limiter installed from manufacturer, when you replaced the light bulb(s) did you get the same wattage?
If you replaced with larger watt bulb they wont work.
Most I have seen were 40 watt bulbs.

The wattage limiter is supposed to allow the larger bulbs to function. It just restricts the bulbs to 190 watts total. Or that is how it is supposed to work.

It could be the source of your problem. I'd give Hunter a call on it.

is it just the bulb or bulb *and* fan that are not working?

The fan is still working fine. Just the lights are not working.

The wattage limiter could have been damaged when the lamp blew !
You might have to replace it !

According to Hunter's FAQ, you probably cannot replace the limiter alone as they do not sell individual components.

You should give them a call to see if you can get warranty parts. I have three Hunter ceiling fans and they have been fantastic about resolving issues.

Good luck
