Ceiling fan issue - steep roof

I have a log house with a 12/12 roof. The electrician hanging my fixtures and such says he can't install the ceiling fans because the roof is too steep. It isn't that the blades would hit the ceiling, but that the down rod won't swivel enough to hang vertically. Surely there's a way to fix this??

Go to aifittings.com and look for the FB450 and the FB900. Both are made for sloped ceilings.

You could also install a piece of wood and use a regualr fan rated box.

Ceiling fan issue - steep roof

I have work with 12/12 pitch before and the item what Jim mention I used alot and make sure you get the ceiling fan with much longer downrod the length of the rod it will depending on the size of fan itself and what type of mounting it have.

I know few big box store will stock pretty long downrods IIRC the longest I did see in big box store is 5 footer and they are not too bad but some case longer { I did have one ceiling fan with 8 foot downrod }

Merci.

Thanks for the replies. Turns out there's an easy solution for this. Hunter makes a vaulted ceiling mount that will handle up to a 12/12 pitch.
