Ceiling Fan Installation Help!
Hi,
I am new to this forum and need some help. I am not sure if anyone on here can help me, but I have recently purchase a Ceiling Fan with Light to replace my existing light fixture. I am having some difficulty installating the fan to get the light to work. Wires are as follows: Ceiling: Black, Brown, Red, Green/Yellow Fan: Green/Yellow (ground/earth), Blue (neutral), White (light active), Brown (fan active). Switch: Red, Black I am using the original wires from my original light switch (red and black) to connect the new switch (fan/light) but I am only getting the Fan to work but not the light and if I play around with the wiring, I am able to get the fan and light to work at the same time, but I want them to be controlled seperately, one or the other. Can anyone help me how to connect it correctly? Thanks |
You likely need another wire from the switch to the fan/light to control them seperately.
Sounds like you are not in the US so I really don't know. |
Dont know where you at ,but in the US the white is the netural and the blue is usually the light----------black to fan ---blue to red

You need a 3 conductor cable or three wires from the switch to the fan. One for the light and one for the fan and one neutral. Otherwise connect the fan and light together and use the pull chains.
They do make remotes for your situation. You only need one supply to use the remote. $30.00 US. |
