Ceiling Fan Installation Electrical Question

Hello, I had an earlier post about using a ceiling fan light kit, well I decided to remove the old fan since it was nasty and wanted to get a new one anyway. I have a question about the wires and how they should match up, I just want to make sure that I have this correct. Here are some pictures of what I am working with.

Coming through the ceiling.

Coming from the new fan
Green Ground is not shown but it is there:

Blue is labeled Light, White is Neutral, Black is Motor.

I am unsure which wire should go where since they do not match up like my instructions explained, the fan light and the fan itself will be powered off of the same switch controlling both and I will just use the pull chain for the fan.

Is the green wire coming through the ceiling with the two reds another ground? If so then were is the neutral? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you for your time!

Ceiling Fan Installation Electrical Question

I see a few problems:

No electric junction box.
Those are THHN wires that have to be enclosed in conduit.
None of the wire colors are approved for a neutral.

You need to take down the bracket and that square plate to see what is under it

Thanks, I guess I will hire an electrician, I cannot remove that square wooden block that the wires go through since whoever installed it pretty much stripped the long bolts that go through it.

Should I be worried about how this is setup and have the whole thing redone. I guess my home inspector was right when he told me that whoever did the wiring was "creative".

You need to go up above that ceiling and figure out what those wires are connected to, because they are non-standard.

Any time you take down a lighting fixture, ceiling fan, etc. and find that wiring doesn't terminate in a junction box, you should be worried. This is a significant electrical code violation.

In this case it could be a simple fix to install a junction box and make your connections inside the box (which needs to happen). The potential greater issue is that if this fixture doesn't have a junction box, what other locations don't have a junction box...?
