Ceiling fan installation

Looking to install a ceiling fan in a room that does not have a ceiling fixture currently. The room has a total of 4 outlets one of those is controlled by the switch. Can any one tell me with the wire configuration below if this is possible or will I have to run new wiring from a junction box.

At the switch: 2 white wires are tied together 4 red wires ties together and one is a pigtail to the bottom of the switch 1 orange wire comes from the box and is connected to the top of the switch.

At the outlet: top of outlet red and orange wire w/tab broken bottom of outlet has white single wire.

code requires conduit.

What is your plan here? Do you want to keep the switch outlet and add a switch for the fan? Or use the switch for the fan and eliminate the switched outlet? Is there attic space above? Will there be a light kit on the fan? Will you use a fan/light dimmer?

fleetdude1, Super33 or a few of the other windy city electricians will probably be the best source for your residential pipe job. (see conduit vs. romex threads). I hope there's an attic above the space you're asking about. good luck, pete

I will be using the old switch and eliminating the switched outlet. There is plenty of attic space above the room where the fan will be installed. The fan does come with a light kit and I will not be using a dimmer at all.

Thanks for your help
