What relay? Are you just trying to hook it up to a switch? Remote control?

Trying to connect wires from a relay switch of a ceiling fan to the motor...the wires on the switch are red, brown, and gray...wires from the motor are red, gray and black...we connected red to red and gray to gray..does the brown go to the black or do we have the wiring wrong?

That relay are you refering to the remote kit relay? If so you have to follow the manufacter instruction on this one.

And what brand name this fan is ??

Merci,
Marc
