cctv drain inspection system

Hi Contin here,

Had couple occasions with problem of block drain causing leak. Flat uses same drain stack hence when blocked causes leak down stairs.

Hence compensation costs was required. In order to avoid same problem in future considering the following project as never seen down drain and ? whether narrowing of drain somewhere, which clogs up easily.

As hiring and equipment exspensive, requiring ideas for diy to use some type of flexable electrical/optic cable and camera of normal kithen drain diameter pipe 1 & 1/2 inches.

Does anyone have ideas as to how to go about project and where to get equipment. Also can existing tv/computer screen be used to display image obtained.

Using plumbers spring after event a bit too late for prevention.

Thanks Contin.

Yea milwaukee tools and extech tools make inspection cameras and they are waterproof. I like the milwaukee because you can add extensions to make the cable longer. They are around $300 or maybe a little more.
