caulking question???

caulking question???

I will be buying Christmas light wire and putting on sockets.
Spt-1 wire and E-17 pin sockets.
These will be outside in the weather for the christmas season only so the exposure won't be that long.
I am concerned with the connection between the wire and the pins.
Is there a caulking I could use to seal the connection?
I've heard that some caulking has acid in it that wouldn't be good for the connection.

caulking question???

Just plug it into an out outlet with the propper outlet cover made to be able to be closed while somethings plugged in to it and forget about it.
