Capri recessed can removal

I want to completely remove some 6" Capri recessed fixtures from my kitchen soffit.
They are definitely NOT accessible to remove from above.
The supports are nailed to the wood soffit framing which are going to be impossible to remove those.
Can I remove the cans without having to destroy the drywall soffit completely?

What do you want to put in place of them?

Capri recessed can removal

I am going to put smaller (3" or 4" cans) in slightly different locations in the soffit.
the original cans were not exactly centered with the cabinet layout.

You are going to have to fix the holes that the cans left behind anyway, so don't beat yourself up trying to save the soffit IMO.

Capri recessed can removal

bend up the supports and cut them off with shears and leave 'em.
