Capping wires from Garbage Disposal

I know some might think this a silly question but does it matter what type caps I use to terminate each wire when I cut the switch to the garbage disposal unit? Also what about the ground? Someone has already removed the unit and capped the wires already at the disposal end. Having installed light fixtures in my bathrooms I followed the directions to cap the wires. I'm pretty sure it doesn't make a difference but I just wanted to confirm with someone. Thanks so much for any help.

Wirenuts are what just about any electrician would use.

No need to strip the insulation, just twist them on.

The ground doesn't need to be insulated at all.

Whichever wirenut fits, but remember all circuits must terminate in a box even if they are just capped off. Picture 1: no. Picture 2: yes.

Question

Capping wires from Garbage Disposal

I had granite installed and am replacing all the electrical. I purchased extenders but they don't seem to be working. Since all the wires are covered up inside the receptacles do I need to use the extenders? The granite was cut too tight and is causing a real hassle in placing the extenders. I bought longer screws and it works fine but I was just concerned with the idea that there is nothing surrounding the outlet other than granite and the old box if I don't use the extenders. There is only a slight bit of particle board that shows through. Any thoughts would be appreciated
