Capacitor hook up


I have a 240v air compressor with ge motor 3013 and need to know how to hook up the starting capacitor. capacitor has 2 contacts, but there is 3 wires to hook up? this was taken off by someone else. any ideas?

2 might go to the same terminal,which they didn't leave the duplex(tandem) terminal connection. Some caps have twin terminals.

Capacitor hook up


Is this a single or dual cap motor? If dual, there would be a common wire (incoming power) connected to one terminal of each cap. Often times the wire will run to one cap and then a jumper to the other cap.
