Can a T104 dual pole timer be used as a single pole installation?
I bought what I thought was a single pole timer off of Amazon. The picture was a single pole but I received a dual pole.
Can it be used as a single pole for a pool pump? It tried hooking it up and it works manually switching it on and off but does not run the clock motor.
I don't have a problem sending it back but wanted to make sure there wasn't a way before I did.
Thanks, Nate

It depends. The clock is rated for 208 - 277 volts. Do you have that avaiable to the clock terminals? If you are stwitching a 120v load, and that is all that is coming to the timer, then NO...you can't do it. Now if you want to change out the clock motor...blah blah blah....anything can be done.

Yes it can be done. It looks like the clock runs off of both legs so you will probably have to bring 240 (three wire) into the timer and then run 120 out to the load (two wire).
Here is a link to the diagrams for that timer.

I have no clue if it is rated for pool pumps.

If you don't have 240 running into the timer it sounds like too much trouble to me. Send it back.

Yeah sounds like too much of a pain. I think I will just send it back and get a single pole 120.
Thanks much for the responses
