Can a Square D 4 pole circuit breaker be used as a 2 pole circuit breaker.

I needed a 2 pole 200 amp breaker for my disconnect. My supplier sent me a 4 pole HOM2200u Square D 200 amp breaker. He told me it can be used as a 4 pole or a 2 pole breaker. Is this true?? I have never seen this done before...its always been my understanding that 4 pole breakers were for 3 phase. Can anyone shed some light on this???

I gotta do a little research on this breaker, I am pretty sure they sent you the wrong one. I will be back.

It is not a three phase breaker.

There are couple verison of Homeline 200 amp breaker and the one you have with 4 pole type you can NOT use each one as two pole that is no way due you will trip it fast { the 4 pole will have 100 amp breaker each slot so you will have total of 200 amp per pole ( keep in your mind it is paired )

What the disconnect model number I can able look up to see what the correct breaker to use in that disconnect.

Unforetally C'est is not a 3 phase breaker at all if that was a three phase breaker you will have 6 pole verison of you describing.

again.,, post the disconnect model number we will go from there to assist you with proper one.

Merci,
Marc
