Can Lights In Exterior Soffit

I want to install lighting in the soffit of my home. I have read lots of posts on the subject but safety is my concern. Any idea of which cans/lights to use to prevent a problem when pressure washing your house? Space is another problem.

Pressure washing a house is something I would never do myself. Specially the soffit. I am more worried about water intrusion than dirt.

I don't like cans in soffits as they can cause ice dams in the winter.

you mean because of the heat they generate?

This can probably be mitigated by using LED bulbs

While LED's do not produce much heat, their drivers do. Next time you are in the store take a look at the LED replacement flood light bulbs. Ask yourself why they have fins ?

The answer is they are heat sinks.
