Cable, Phone box & Roof Jack

We are doing a significant remodel and would like to put the incoming cable and phone into a separate box in the outside wall (not a box hanging on the outside, but located inside the framing). So the first question is does anyone have a recommendation for this type of box and the minimum distance it can be from the meter? Second question relates to outing phone and cable into the box. My preference is a neat and tidy installation from the roof. Please advise me on considerations for using a roof jack/mast for incoming cable and phone. Thank you.

I would contact the providers of the phone and cable to see what their requirements are. You do not want to install something they will not allow or use. I would also be thinking underground, not overhead.

thanks...actually i had spoken with ATT on Friday and they said the choice was mine as far as the box; ATT does not care. As far as undergrounding, i like it too but not at the $20K charge.

Here's a you tube video on a box that fits in between studs for residential applications.
