bx cable under porch

Can I use bx cable under my porch ? It is not totally enclosed & I am not sure if that is considered a "wet" location. It would be run on the ceiling to add another light.
Thanks

bx cable under porch

I will treat the porch if semienclosed then it is damp location the BX cable is very limited on damp location IMO better off just run in conduit it will fair much better and have far less issue than BX cable is. otherwise run it with UF { wet location } cable that will have no issue at all.

Merci.

It is a 100 yr old home , open rafters & dont plan on covering them. Yes , it will all be run on the ceiling.
I thought bx would be good , then it's "protected" & is easier than conduit.
thanks for all the replies so far !
