Buzzing dimmers and recessed lights

My home office has 6 can lights on 2 dimmer switches. The round ones seen here:

If the knobs aren't dialed into the perfect positions, they buzz, as do the bulbs. And most of the time, one or the other is always buzzing. It's driving me nuts.

I keep the lights as bright as possible, so there's really no need for the dimmers. I was thinking about replacing the dimmer switches with regular light switches. Will this solve the buzzing problem in the switches and in the cans?

Yes.
What kind of lamps(bulbs) are you using?
If they are CFL you need dimmable CFL's and a dimmer compatible with CFL.
Those dimmers look older and won't work with CFL's

Good luck,

I think they're regular CLFs (non dimmable). Which probably explains the buzzing there. The switches do look old. I'm still inclined to just swap out the dimmer switches for regular switches.

Thanks

That is all you need to do to make the buzzing stop.

Try another brand of bulb or use a rough service or 130 volt rated bulb. The buzz is the filament vibrating.
