bundling romex

cape cod located in ny state.been looking online for past hour , seen alot of different answers. doing some romex runs for new kitchen and bath, getting inspected.in an unfinished basement.not alot of space in places, exactly how many 12/2 and or 14/2s can be bundled/ziptied in place before i have to worry about derating the wire? some say up to 9 separate 14/2 s, some say only 3? is there an official nec code?thanks.

After 9 current carrying conductors derating is required. So that would be five 2 wire cables then you need to derate.

It doesn't matter what gauge but I typed that wrong. Five cables would need derating since it would be 10 wires. You can bundle 4 cables and not worry.
If any of your cable a multi wire circuits use 3 wire cable then you only count them as two. The neutral wire doesn't need to be counted in this case as it only carries the difference in current between the hots.
