I am in the process of finishing off my basement. I am wondering if anyone could recommend any good electrical books or manuals that you have used to help with this type of project. An electrician is helping out but the more I can read up and get the design and planning done ahead of time will help them and me out. Thanks for listening.

Wiring Simplified is probably the most popular one. Black and Decker has one, as well as Stanley "residential wiring" and Home Depot "Wiring 1-2-3" are all decent.

That seems its more safety than anything, and doesn't explan how to do typical DIY electrical work.

If you get the black and decker...
B&D used to have three different versions of their electrical book: simplified, advanced and complete. Get the has everything from the simplified and advanced in one book. It is very good and mostly complete. The one issue to look out for is that codes change so an older (or even a newer) book could provide information that is not compliant with your local area.

That is a good framing book to start with.
I second the wiring simplified as good electrical reference.
