Bonding & Ground Rod Question

Ok...almost got this thing together. Let me preface by saying that we have no inspections or anything in our area....I want to do this properly, though I get a lot of "we could rig it this way" even from our local co-op guys...go figure LOL

Anyway, I have a meter on pole w 200a disconnect that has bonded neutral/ground with 4 wire (4/0-4/0-2/0-2 Alum) running to my workshop(that stuff is per poco). In the workshop is a main panel with a 200a breaker.

My questions:
1. Do I leave the ground & neutral seperate in the workshop panel or bond them ??

2. Is a buried ground rod also required at the building ?? or is the poco earth ground on the pole enough ?

Thanks all for your help.
Brad

Bonding & Ground Rod Question

#1 Seperate them. Install a ground bar made for your panel
#2 Install a ground rod and connect to the ground bar in the panel. If the panel came with a green bonding screw, throw it away.

Bonding & Ground Rod Question

I just want to verify then...If I separate ground & neutral at the shop...do I hook the 4th wire (ground) coming from the meter to the grounding bar in the box, along with the wire to the ground rod ?? Or does that 4th wire get hooked somewhere else ??
Thanks,
Brad

Bonding & Ground Rod Question

They both get hooked to the grounding bar.
