Blown in insulation over junction box?

I have a couple of junction boxes on top of the floor joists in the attic as well as a couple of ceiling fan boxes. Can I blow in insulation directly over top of these or do I need to keep it clear for heat buildup reasons?

Blow away.

Does it matter that the insulation is the recycled paper type?

So true. I know a guy that uses caution marking paint. Just sprays a spot over the insulation where the box is. How effective, I don't know. But better than no indicator.

The electricians are usually long gone before the insulation arrives.
