Best way to connect this under-cabinet light?

I'm having trouble with how to run wiring to this 3' T5 mounted under a cabinet in the shop. Hope this picture shows everything:

The fixture doesn't have cable clamp holes on the sides, only the ends and top. My thought was to run the wire to the end, but that leaves a long section exposed.. which can't be to code. Can't run it from the top since that is a storage area.

Suggestions?

as long as the romex coming in is secured by an appropriate cable connector you are fine. You also would need to secure that romex to the stud at a reasonable point, in an appropriate manner to avoid damage to the romex.

No, you had better use RMC with THHN.

How do I connect metal conduit into a plastic box with no threads? Or are you saying I have to rip out $500 in wire and redo it all with conduit? This will eventually be covered up w sheetrock.
