Bathroom Fan and no grounding wire
I'm installing a new bathroom fan (air king bfq90) and there is no green or copper wire in the attic. The existing fan just had a black and white wire.
In my attic th e black and white wires are in a metal tube that goes through the attic. The new ceiling fan had a green wire, but I don't know what to do with it.
Do I just cap the green by itself?
House was built in '78 and the ceiling fan shares the same switch with the light. There is no light on the actual bathfanroom.
I'm located in Chicagoland.
If the wiring method is EMT, then the metal conduit will act as the grounding conductor. Just make sure the locknut is tight. Just cap off the green wire in the fan.
