basic light fixture connecting

I'm a novice at electrical stuff. I tried to connect up a light fixture in the bathroom. It was difficult to get to the box because the fixture was so wide. I hooked up white to white, black to black, and ground to green. The light worked for ONE day, then all of a sudden it went off, but the rest of things powered in the circuit stayed on. I thought I got the wires screwed in tightly enough. Any suggestions?
