Basement lighting help!

Hello. I'm trying to find a replacement light or light cover in the below pictures. These god awful light covers are in the basement and are 8.34 x 8.34 inches. Due to their odd size, I'm having trouble finding a fixture to replace them with. Any thoughts or comments would be extremely beneficial. Thanks. John.

Can't see much in the photos. Turn off the lights and take a photo with the flash.
Could you buy a large fixture and cut the holes larger. Easier than making the holes smaller.

Plan to REMOVE these old fixtures entirely.
Then to install standard round recessed fixtures...
and to do some GWB patching along the way.

The existing wiring should be reusable without issue.
