Ballast wiring, to and neutral wires.

In order to wire a ballast to a lamp wire I have to connect the black (hot) wire to the smooth wire lamp and the white (neutral) to the ribbed wire lamp, right?

Yes, you would connect the white wire to the neutral, but there are probably other things you need to connect, such as lamp sockets. You will have to check the instructions and wiring diagram for that ballast.

Ballast wiring, to and neutral wires.

For this model I just have to connect the ballast wire. The sockets were came already connected and all I had to do was mount them to the side.

Thanks
