Back to 15amp vs 20 amp question

ALL wiring in my house is basically 12-2 with the exception of stove, dryer, etc... I know that 12-2 uses a 20 amp breaker. Is it safe to say that ALL circuits using 12-2 should use a 20 amp breaker even if 12-2 was used for ceiling lights? Is there any reason that I would NEED to use a 15 amp breaker on 12-2 wire?

Back to 15amp vs 20 amp question

No. If the circuit is all 12-2 wire, the 20 amp breaker is appropriate.
