Attice Fan cutting out

I have an attic fan that during the summer months, it will stop on its own. I'm not sure if it is equiped with a thermal cut out or mabey if the attic gets so pressurized that it makes the fan cut out? But either way it will cut out for a few minutes and then start back up.

Sounds like it is overheating or the thermostat is set too high! Does it have a thermostat next to it? If it does check what it is set at. Also, if you don't have enough venting to supply air at the same rate or better than the fans is pushing it out it can cause it to overheat.

Bad bearings will cause the motor to overheat and have its thermal cutout switch embedded in the windings cycle on and off, even while the 'stat continues to ask for cooling.
