Attaching a range outlet to a wall

This may sound silly but we have a range outlet laying on the floor and I was wondering how would I mount it to a wall before we install our new range.

Is the cable in the wall? Is it coming up through the floor? Of course you can install the box correctly. Cables should not be exposed and unprotected. Answer the questions and we can help.

Turn off the circuit, test it, open the jbox, pull the wire/recep out of the way, use appropriate screws/anchors to attach the box to the wall, put recep back in, turn on power, test.
