air conditioner makes battery dead unless remove fuse!


Why does my a/c make battery dead unless i remove fuse, then i have no a/c?

Battery in what, a UPS? You're not plugging an AC into a UPS are you? Most UPSes can't handle that much current.

Just a guess, but I think the OP is talking about auto a/c. If so sounds like an a/c relay is stuck.

I guess the OP could pull that relay and see if it fixes it. Otherwise, a schematic from AutoZone or someplace like that would come in handy.

Let see now, since this is posted on a board for residential wiring, how about a GFCI mounted on the dashboard so he reset it when the AC is needed. He'd just have to come up with a way to connect the load to the ignition switch so it would trip when the switch is off.

It could have been in HVAC or Automotive repairs but substantial troubleshooting has already been done by the OP to narrow it down so I vote that it is now an electrical problem.

Orrrrrrr... it could be an alternator problem?
