Ahhhhhhhhh!

I thought our disposal was plug wired so left it in the box on the counter.

My contractor who is doing the install of the disposal, rather than asking me for an appliance cable, just cut my 12ga extension cord which was coiled up sitting on the counter, wired it up to the disposal then after he cut it, asked me to confirm he got neutral, ground and hot wired properly......sigh.

I had a bought a new 12ga appliance cord for the dishwasher (also going in today) and I don't know why he would assume I wanted to do a hack job on the disposal but do the dishwasher properly.

These are the reasons why I want to learn to do things myself!

Ahhhhhhhhh!

He's a contractor who does kitchen cabinet installs as well as plumbing. But I don't know if that makes it any better because in the kitchen are
many electrical appliances and as I'm finding most do not come with plugs. If I had realized this I would have done the wiring before hand.
I will check his work before using anything. I shut off all of the breaker to those circuits also.
