After replacing a light fixture the fan is not working but the lights do

Hello,

I just replaced an old light fixture with a new one and now my fan is not working. The light does turn on though.
I checked the wires for loose connections and that did not help.
I also assume that since the lights are working, it is not the light switch problem.

I cannot determine what brand the fan is, as it came with the house. The sticker says:
52" Ceiling fan c-52
AC 120V 60Hz 0.6 A 65 W
No 0252980 0801
Made in Taiwan 5AO 0008

The light fixture has a separate pull chain.
Inside the fan's "cable box" there is a pull chain switch and two black boxes, which I assume are capacitors?
The pull chain is not stuck.

Not sure what other information I can provide.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The fan previously had a light fixture, but from a sticker it seems that it came separately and was added to the fan later. The light and fan did both work before replacing the light fixture.
I just bought a simple light fixture at Lowes. The sales assistant did not mention it had to be compatible, so I never thought about it. I replaced it because the previous one was ugly. There was no problems with it.

The panel has the following wires coming out of the rod:

1. Black - going into the fan pull chain switch
2. White - connected with a cap to a white wire from the bulb socket
3. Blue - connected with a cap to a black wire from the bulb socket
4. Red - connected with a cap to another red wire, which in turn goes into a small black box #1 (capacitor?)
5. Light grey/whiteish wire - connected with a cap to two other wires of the same color; one goes to black box #2 (another capacitor?); the second goes into the direction switch
6. Pink - connected with a cap to two other pink wires - both go into the direction switch
7. Yellow - connected with a cap to two other yellow wires - both go into the direction switch

Moreover, a purple, brown and grey wires are connected to the speed switch and a black box #2 (another capacitor?).

I am attaching a diagram since it's a bit complicated (for me at least)
