AFCI Question

I'm looking to add AFCI breakers to my existing bedroom circuits. My problem is that the previous owners did a panel upgrade about 4-5 years ago and moved the new panel about 10 feet to the left of where the original one was (I'm guessing to get away from plumbing in the original location). In doing so junction boxes were added to extend some of the old circuits to the new panel. The bedroom circuits (2 of them) were extended with a single piece of 14/3 to the J Box from the panel, and then on the receptacle/lighting circuits with 14/2. I am looking at this as a MWBC, so I would need to install a 2 pole AFCI instead of two single pole devices to deal with the shared neutral. Am I interpreting this correctly? BTW the panel is a Cutler Hammer BR 200A, the two circuits in question are 15A. Thanks for any help you can provide.

That would be right.

I think I would change out the 14/3 with 2 14/2 ans put single pole afci breakers in.

Thanks for clearing that up I'm not sure why the previous EC did not do that. These are the only remaining circuits that seem to be original to the house
(built 1970.) I just want to have the extra insurance of having the AFCI's given the age of the NM. Probably should just have an EC megger them out.
