Just doing a simple reno in the upstairs bedroom and bathroom... Wasn't sure about the amount of receptacles, etc. that could be put on one 14/2 wire from the panel. The answer given was appropriate yet I was told I needed to use AFCI receptacles/ lights in the panel for the bedroom... So must I revamp my whole panel box now? Or can I leave it as is and just use the lines already run?
I understand the code. Read and true. My house was build in the late 70s... So is far from todays code. Just not sure with all the junctions an types of wiring that anything would still work!
There is no specific limit on the number of receptacles you can have on a convenience circuit. Just stand by; AFCI breakers are seriously expensive (like ten times the cost of regular breakers). Fortunately, I built my house in an area that's still under NEC 2005 so I only needed a couple of them.
