Advice on planning now for future updates.

I am currently finishing a room in the basement. Sometime in the distant future I am going to need to add some outlets and run cat5e and coax to the bedrooms above said room. To meet code height requirements I need to drywall the ceiling in the basement.
What would be the best way to plan for the future updates? Run empty conduit with pull strings in ceiling of the basement into the walls of the rooms above, or plan on going from the basement into the attic and back down to the bedrooms? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ben

Ben, if you're speaking of low voltage connections such as computer, cable, phone speaker etc. Carlon has brochures in many home stores for "Structured Wiring" using their corregated flexible conduit. You could run something like this in anticipation of future use.

For electrical, 120v for instance, you would probably want to plan accordingly in advance and overestimate as best you can for outlets switches etc. You could run conduit with string, the blue version of that flex conduit is listed for 120v circuits.
