Adding one recessed light to exsisting switch...
I closed in my basement stairway and it is quite dark at the bottom. I have a light switch at the top of the stairs and one at the bottom. Both switches turn the basement lights off and on.
Can I add a recessed light at the bottom of the stairs and tie it into the switch box at the bottom of the stairs? Or can I run the wires from the new light to another light fixture a short distance away? That way the two existing switches will operate this light.
Which way is the best way to go?
It would be easier to run the wiring from a nearby fixture that is controlled by the same switches.
