adding can lighting and bathroom exhaust fan to aluminum wired house
I have an aluminum wired home built in 1975. I was going to add a bathroom exhaust fan, and now realize after research about arcing issues between aluminum/copper wirings. Does this mean that I can't add much other than aluminum rated light switches to my home. I was planning on adding the earlier mentioned bathroom exhaust, and adding can lights to brighten the place up. I can't afford to replace the wiring at this point. I have heard that special nuts that have noalox aren't suitable for longterm wiring either. Am I just SOL?

Ok .... Im gonna have a few electricians come out in the next few days and check out my situation. One said just to replace the outlets/switches with COLAR( I think) plugs, and a rewire would be 6-7k. This seems like a short term solution cost 500-700. Another said he would pigtail the house roughly between 600-800, and charge between 3.5k-4.5k for a new rewire. The last one said He would upgrade the box and do a rewire between 3.8k-4.5k. These are all over the phone, and they supposed to come out and eyeball it. Should I go the pigtail route or just replace all of it. I can swing the cost of the replacement, but it's a tough pill to swallow.
