adapter help

I need a 220 outlet to run my air compressor in my garage. I was wondering if it is possible to use an adapter on my dryers L6-30 plug to a Nema 6 plug to run my compressor? I only have one other outlet in the garage and it is 110v.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You could get an L6-30P , a short piece of cord, connect it to a 6-15R or a 6-20R to match the configuration of the compressor cord.

Are your sure you have an L6-30R and not just a 6-30R at the dryer?

I'd read the nameplate on the compressor before making up an adapter!
