Acceptable solution for 4 way UF splice

Hi all,
I am moving a lamp post, which to my surprise had 3 wires spliced together in the post - which feed other outdoor landscape lighting (all line voltage).

Because the UF splice kits are for one cable, the only solution I could come up with is to use an underground junction box (the fiberglass 8-10" round type that looks like an upside down flower pot) with a bolted cover, exposed to surface. The wires would be splices here (I need to add one to extend the lampost), soldered, water resistant wire nuts, then coated with liquid elec tape. The J Box would be set in gravel to ensure drainage.

Is this OK or is there a better way?

Thanks in advance!

You can use a hand Hole for the connections. They sell wire nuts made for connections like this.

Agreed. Put some sort of access and just use wirenuts. Preferably wet location rated ones but I think you'd be fine to use regular wirenuts if you put a squirt of deox in each one. Electrical tape them with some 33 if you want but I wouldn't use liquid tape. Twist the wires together before you nut them

You have to use listed wirenuts for this application.

Thanks for your comments and support - I went to my local elec supply and they had the exact same handhole that stick boy pictured.. I did use the gel filled blue waterproof wirenuts - went a step further and twisted and soldered too - unnecessary, I know, but weather does funny things to stuff over time..
