4-wire porcelain pull-chain
Hi! Long-time reader, first-time poster.

I've got an issue. I need to replace an old porcelain pull-chain in my 30-year old copper-wired house with a new one with a three-pronged outlet. However, when I went to take down the fixture, I saw that there are four screw terminals (two wired with hot, two wired with neutral) on the back of the fixture, as opposed to just two! Every fixture at the home center has just two screw terminals! What do I do? If you guys can help, that'd be great!

Also, the other porcelain fixture in my house was wired with just two wires (hot and neutral) but has a three-pronged outlet with nothing attached to the ground screw (but a metal electrical box). Is this dangerous?

They are just using the terminals as a connection point to carry power on to the next part of the circuit.

Connect the two black wires together and to a short pigtail with a wire nut. Connect the pigtail to the single screw on the fixture. Same thing for the neutral wire and the ground wires.

These fixtures most of the time do not accept the ground wire under a screw or anywhere else for that matter. The ground wire is just connected to the metal box.. If there is a ground screw on the fixture then you should connect a ground wire to it and the metal box. Do this in the same manner as Joe mentioned with pigtails.
