I have a ceiling light junction box with a total of 4 wire bundles coming into it. Just one light switch in this room so just a 2 pole switch. There is one 3-wire and a 2-wire which make sense for the light to work from the switch and because it is probably powering the electrical outlet in the room as well (which looks to be the last in the run). But why is there an extra 2 2-wire bundles in this junction box? Maybe these are branching off to other rooms?
In summary, there are four bundles, three 2-wire and one 3-wire. All the blacks are connected together and all the whites are connected together. The red from the 3-wire is connected to the light as well as a pig-tail from the white (common).
