3way wiring problem (diagram inside)

1 Attachment(s)
Good day, Below is my wiring diagram I am having problems with.

Can you help me pair the blue letters and numbers?

I am confident with my connections at the switch leg and at the lighting fixture. I need help where the feed comes in to the first switch. This first switch is a lutron 3 way dimmer with 2 reds and one black wire.

The only pair I am certain of is connecting 2 and 3 (neutrals)

Thanks for your help.

A-L1
B-L2

B is the common connection on the dimmer.

General 3 way switch wiring: The neutral of the source goes directly to the load. The 'hot' (black) of the source goes to the common terminal of one of the 3 way switches. The 'black' of the load goes to the common terminal of the other 3 way switch. The 2 remaining travelers get hooked up to the remaining terminals on the 3 way switches. Doesn't matter which wire on which terminal. That's general wiring of a 3 way switch leg.

Using the illustration you provided:

Switch box 1: having a 14/2 (source) and a 14/3 (going to the fixture) and the dimmer switch in box 1

14/2 white to 14/3 white (this will be your neutral)
14/2 black to black wire of dimmer
14/3 black to one of the red wires of the dimmer
14/3 red to other red wire of the dimmer

Switch box 2: having a 14/3 going to the fixture and a standard 3 way switch

14/3 black to common terminal
14/3 red to traveler terminal (either one)
14/3 white (taped black to show it's an ungrounded [hot] wire now) to other traveler terminal.

Fixture box: having a 14/3 coming from switch box 1 and a 14/3 coming from switch box 2

14/3 coming from switch box 1:

white to white of fixture (this is your neutral)
black to white of 14/3 coming from switch box 2. (white of switch box 2 again being taped black to show it's an ungrounded 'hot' wire)
red to 14/3 red of switch box 2

That leaves the black from switch box 2 and the black of the fixture left to deal with...and those 2 get connected together.

I see that you have posted now that it is working. Looks like both your way and joe's way are correct. Except joe said "B-L2" and I think he meant "C-L2", as 'B' would already have been connected to the incoming feed.

Thanks SD515!

I am going to file your explanation away for future reference.

Much appreciated.

Mine is actually wrong. The last direction should be C-L1 not B-L1. A and C can be reversed with no problems.
