My first post here..hope someone can help :)

I have a fan heater in the lounge which I use all winter, only in the evenings(great climate here in Western Australia):)

The so-called thermostat built into it is rubbish and I am looking for a switch that will turn it on/off say every 30 mins whilst the heater is in use. I have the normal 24 hr timer but obviously that does not do the job. Thanks Dave

They make 12 hour and 24 hour timers with many little sliders all around a circular dial for multiple on and off periods as opposed to two or four sliders for one or two one and off periods during the day.

The sliders go in and out as opposed to side to side, one slider for each half our or 15 minute period. If you pull out three sliders in a row you get steady operation for 45 or 90 minutes depending on the time span for each slider.

Be sure that the one you select is rated for the amperes or watts (and volts) of the heater.
