3 Way Timers

Have any of you guys ever wired one the 3 way in-wall digital timers, like the Aube TI072-3W, Leviton VPT24-1PZ, and Intermatic EI600C? If so, do they actually allow the other switch in the circuit to function as a normal 3-way? By normal, I mean can you use the other switch to turn the fixture on and/or off regardless whether or not the timer has switched the power on/off to the fixture?

Or do they, simply allow you a way to turn the fixture on if the timer has the fixture off, or is it viseversa, but not both?

Looking at the diagrams itís unclear, all of them except the Leviton rewire the other 3 way switch in the circuit using it as essentially a single pole switch to switch a sense wire, and do not require a 2nd traveler.
