3 way switch

OK another question.
I want to put in a 3 way switch, one dimmer and the other just a switch (3-way).
Let's see if this makes sense...... I have a my 14/3 running from one wall to the opposite wall, via the ceiling. I have a round box in the center of the ceiling, this is where the power comes in an where I would have the light (and my 14/3 runs by).
Is it possible to tap into the power in the center of my new 14/3 wire? And does this make sense?......lol

If the cable is only between the switch locations what power are you trying to tap into? The power switches between the legs of the travelers/

The drawn image is pretty much the same as Joe one above, I have wired it this way and it only works if the 3-way switch is in a certain position. The make of make of the dimmer is Leviton, there are 2 red wires, 1 black and a ground.

You have the travelers and a common mis-wired at one (or both) of the switches.
